Nap Time!

You want to know what this country needs?  The answer is nap time.

It may sound childish, but the after you think of the possibilities, you realize there is potential.  A national nap time would help some businesses, having an additional break to rest up could make them more efficient than they would be working through it.  The same goes for schools.  Some students overwork themselves on tough schedules, and don't get the proper rest they need.  They could wake up from their nap more alert and ready to work.

Another thing to consider, do you realize how this could improve our economy?  So many jobs could be created in businesses that produce blankets, pillows, and of course the Pillow Pet.  Everyone will want to get new blankets just as they would want the newest clothes, and businesses would prosper.

There and Back Again

Well November is coming to an end, and I know you are all looking forward to that glorious day coming in December.  Of course what we've all been waiting for!  The Hobbit is coming out in theaters.  Some of you thought I was talking about Christmas, don't be silly.  Anyone who has seen the Lord of the Rings trilogy know how awesome they were.  Most movies people complain that it doesn't follow the book well, it wasn't as good, yada yada yada.  The Lord of the Rings is one movie that isn't like that.  For the most part it is very accurate, and well acted.

I hope that the Hobbit can achieve as much success as the original movies.  I've read the first two books for the Lord of the Rings as well as the Hobbit, and I can see how good of a movie they can make.  It has a lot of potential, and is sure to be a hit.  This is a movie to look forward to next month, so get ready for a brand new experience in Middle Earth.

A Ph.D in Horribleness

Let me ask you a question.  Are you a fan of super heroes? Don't answer, of course you are, but have you heard of Dr. Horrible?  If not, I recommend you watch his movie, Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, starring Neil Patrick Harris.

Now I know what you may be thinking, singing, superheroes, and blogs, all in one movie?  That sounds a bit ridiculous.  But may I say that this is a great story, it is able to mix the genres of a comedy, a musical, a love and story into one very memorable film.

In short, the movie is about a small time villain, Dr. Horrible, who tries to win over the girl of his dreams, and at the same time become a member of the Evil League of Evil by demonstrating is villainy.  The only one standing in his way is his nemesis, Captain Hammer.

The movie is hilarious, the plot is well thought out, and all the music is memorable.  You could find the whole movie on Youtube, so next time you find yourself bored with forty minutes to kill, just look it up and enjoy this great movie.

The Habit

Has anyone out there been to the Habit Burger., you know that new restaurant right across the street from In-N-Out?  I know what you may be thinking, what burger place would try to compete with In-N-Out.  Well take the time to go try it out, you know why?
It's Delicious!
I don't want to put In-N-Out down too much, but if you haven't noticed, they have a pretty small menu.  I know they have a secret menu and all that jazz, but it's not dramatically different.  The Habit Burger has plenty to offer.  Like chicken, for starters.  They also have salads for anyone on a diet or who just appreciates a good salad from time to time, or even the sweet potato fries.  Sweet Potato Fries.  Now I like french fries, but in an addictive sort of way, but sweet potato fries are more, let's say, sophisticated.  They have the flavor that normal fries just lack, so they need to rely on ketchup to satisfy.  They also have some self serve jalapenos and some kind of peppers for those daring enough for the spice.

So come on go try something new, you may just become a regular customer. It should at least be interesting enough for one taste. Food is not to be underestimated, So give it some respect and make a habit of going there (Dang, that pun was really cheesy).

The hardest sport (in my opinon)

Football, its one of the toughest sports out there.  ONE of them.  Sure, there is definitely skill involved, and someone gets tackled into the ground nearly every play.  However, I believe the hardest sport is not football, but water polo (or rugby).  That's right, Water Polo.  You know, the sport nobody really cares about until the Olympics come around, that one.  Football, you play one step at a time, short thirty second bursts.  Water Polo, you go until someone scores, after which theres only about twenty seconds rest then back at it.  Nobody in there gets any rest.  Have you ever realized how in football they have those fancy replays all the time.  The time it takes to show the replay is their rest, in case you didn't notice, and it's plenty of time.  Not to mention that they have separate players for offense and defense.  Water Polo has players swimming back and forth across the pool, no rest.  Even if a foul is called, that just means a free pass and get back to work, plus during that time the clock is stopped, so that time just gets added to playing time.  Practice schedules are also brutal.  To play in high school means two to three hour afternoon practices, and morning practices three days a week for one to two hours.

And one final note, whatever the referee doesn't see is legal.  That means players can fight one another under the water as long as no one sees it, and believe me when I say that it happens often.  Sometimes people will start seeing blood in their toilet after a knee to the kidney.

First Post Woohoo!

Well this will be the first post to this blog.  Some people may be wondering why the blog is called 2012-13 English.  That is because this blog is for english class, although not everything will be about the subject.  As far as what I will post on this, I have no idea, but I hope that it will be wonderfully random.  That is why I have suddenly decided to change the color of the text.  And the font.  I know, that just blew your mind.  I feel like messing around with my tools right now, so please ignore any Radical Changes to the text.  I didn't change the font size, don't be ridiculous.  Well I guess that's all for this right now, so Hasta la Pasta!
